Mahlkönig E64 WS

The Mahlkönig E64 WS is a compact commercial espresso grinder that uses grind‑by‑weight dosing rather than time. A load cell (scale) built into the portafilter fork weighs the coffee as it grinds, stopping the motor once the target dose is reached.

This approach shifts adjustment away from time calibration and towards direct mass measurement. As a result, the grinder responds better to changes in bean density, humidity, and burr wear. The E64WS uses 64 mm flat burrs and sits below the EK line, but above entry‑level shop grinders.

It also supports Grind-by-Sync (GbS) – which works with selected scales (Mahlkönig Sync Scale) and espresso machines to automatically tune the grinder to make sure espresso extraction meets the formula the Barista sets.
